GRANNY ANNIE

Olivia is the daughter of Jessica Rose Catherman Rooks and Erik Rooks, so the grand-daughter of Ann Taylor, great grand-daughter of Harold Taylor.

Last week, Mom and Dad (Aunt CB and Uncle Jack), Jim Kinsella, Sue Kinsella and her son Alex drove down to see Uncle Harold. They had a great day, and said Uncle Harold was at his smiling, energetic best.

They met little Olivia, along with Jessica, Annie and Kathy. AND, tomatoes were already in season, so Kathy gave them all some world famous Seneca Falls tomatoes (because Gordy and Kathy live in Seneca Falls and not Waterloo…).

As this crew of visiting Kinsellas made their way to my house, I too had the Seneca Falls tomatoes, and they were SO good! WAY better than store bought tomatoes, and Dad was heard to say, “I hate to say anything good about Seneca Falls tomatoes over Waterloo tomatoes, but these are great!” For their visit to MA, I think Dad only ate tomatoes, passing up even the lobster rolls I made.

So, Congratulations to Jess and Erik—Olivia is a cutie. And, glad that Uncle Harold is feeling well during this very hot summer season. And, Ann, I absolutely LOVE your new nick name—Granny Annie.

And, THANK YOU to my sister Sue, for taking these terrific pictures! Great work…

I love these pictures!

Olivia is so sweet--and the picture of the four generations is wonderful.

Welcome Olivia--Hope to meet you soon.

And, Jess and Erik, hope you are getting at least a small amount of sleep!

Love,

It was great to see Uncle Harold, Kathy and Gordy, and Annie, Jessica and Olivia. Alex stayed in Rochester to help Jill with the kids while she got ready for our trip to New England for Paul and Angela's wedding. (Uncle Harold asked, "Why did you leave Alex home and bring THIS guy [my brother Jim] instead?!?" Is it enough to say that Jim drove?)

Olivia was such a sweetheart! She only cried when I was holding her (of course!), and Mom (Aunt CB) proved that decades of childraising makes you a pro at soothing babies. Annie is way too young and beautiful to convince me that she's a "Granny," but I do love her Granny Annie moniker, too!

I had been hoping that I'd get to see Kathy but it was right in the middle of her work day. However, she arranged for two hours off and it was such a delight to see her and Gordy!

Uncle Harold looked great, just like the old days, with a sparkle in his eye, a smile on his face, and looking younger when I thought he just celebrated a birthday about getting older!

It was a wonderful day. I'm so glad we got to visit.
